Earl Jay Caoile

I am a software developer with a background in a variety of fields such as electrical engineering, military intelligence, applied linguistics, and teaching English. My experiences have given me a unique global perspective. I'm also able to work in a variety of environments with teams of various sizes.

My extensive education in computer science (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science) and information systems (Master of Science Information Systems) has given me plenty of exposure to the tech industry. Furthermore, my experience with teaching (Master of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) has improved my communications skills and given me opportunities to work with people from different cultures. During my studies, I took part in student exchange programs in South Korea and Japan, and during my time in the military, I deployed to Afghanistan for 1 year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

My path towards career transition has been a long and roundabout one, but after all of my experiences, I can say for sure that software development is the career for me. Like any other job industry, it has ups and downs, but I get so much satisfaction from solving programming problems. There are many social and economic problems that can be solved with programming. I want to join an organization that empowers me to solve these problems and be the positive change I wish to see in this world.
